I’m just now catching my breath from my trip to Los Angeles for Yurbi’s first sponsorship at the Gartner BI Summit. How did Yurbi do? Well, let’s just say I experienced both joy and pain. It was a joy to interact with current and potential Yurbi end-users, but a pain on my feet, which are still recovering from the many demonstrations and discussions we had with the Summit participants and Gartner team members.
All jokes aside, it was really great to know that many of the Summit participants had heard about Yurbi—either by our marketing efforts, or someone from their technical team told them to visit our booth at the Summit. It was even greater to have an opportunity to introduce Yurbi to some of the other vendors, Gartner team members and Summit participants who had never heard about us.
After swiping badges, giving away our cool Yurbi t-shirts and interacting with participants, I carved out some “me” time with a trip to Las Vegas. During my trip, I had time to rest my feet, play some poker and reflect on my four main take-a-ways from the Gartner BI Summit 2012.
1. You have 3 or more BI tools in your environment.
With orders from CFOs and IT directors to cut spending, many of you were trying to decide what tools to keep for the coming years. When we asked, “what BI tools do you currently have in your environment?” A common response was, “what BI tools DON’T we have?” along with you listing your current BI vendors/tools with us. Frankly, it was a surprise for us to hear about the various BI tools that you had, but not able to create the informed reports you needed. That is why we offer Yurbi Community, so we can PROVE our product before you spend lots of time and resources on a BI tool that will not be useful to you.
2. You are frustrated with the amount of time and resources you have already spent on your BI tools with little results.
Many of you happily (and some unhappily) reported that you had “finally” successfully installed your BI tool after many months of trying to get it to work in your environment. I really felt sorry for you because if you’d used Yurbi, you wouldn’t have this frustration. Yurbi is easy to download, install and start using in less than 1 day! This short installation to implementation period saves time, resources and frustration.
3. You need data governance because with your current BI tool there is limited security and the IT staff desire more access control.
When we talked about how Yurbi allows administrators to create security profiles of end-users, your ears perked up! Because we’ve dealt with many government customers, who wanted security, we built this feature into our product. With Yurbi, end-users only have access to the data they need to have access to. If your team member does not need to see the numbers from the retail operations in Los Angeles, then they won’t see it.
4. You love Yurbi!
I’d have to say that many of you have “showed Yurbi some love” since last week by visiting our website and downloading Yurbi Community for free. I’m so glad my throbbing foot pain was not in vain
If you missed us at the Gartner BI Summit 2012 in LA, you can still “show Yurbi some love” by registering NOW for our upcoming webinar on April 25, 2012 @ 2 P.M. EST.
Well, Yurbi is all packed up and ready to go out to Los Angeles for the Gartner BI Summit April 2-4, 2012. I’m excited to show Yurbi to the Gartner customers so they can see how Yurbi can “Bring Their Data to Life”. Yes, it may sound corny, but we have actually received customer feedback on how Yurbi has raised their data from the dead. They knew the data was always there, it just needed to be resuscitated in a meaningful way and that is exactly what Yurbi did.
At the Gartner BI Summit, we want to showcase Yurbi’s platform as an easy and powerful BI tool for mid-sized and enterprise companies. For me, the best part of this BI Summit will be meeting and engage with potential customers to discover their current BI tool’s “pain points.” We use their feedback, along with our own experiences in BI and IT Services Management (ITSM), to enhance Yurbi’s capabilities and meet their BI needs.
After 10+ years of listening and learning from our customers, we worked diligently to create a platform where the initialization, deployment and cost of ownership are affordable for any organization at any size. With Yurbi’s completeness of vision, organizations can start out small by first downloading our free Yurbi Community Edition, and as their requirements grow, Yurbi is there with additional, powerful features.
The result? A complete BI platform solution and happy users! Here is a tweet from one of these happy users:

I’m hoping that Yurbi gets more of these “happy user tweets” after the Gartner BI Summit.
So, follow us @Yurbi during the Gartner BI Summit and if you happen to be attending, come by our exhibit and experience how Yurbi can “Bring Your Data To Life” because we want you to join our “happy user tweet” group.
About the Gartner BI Summit
The Gartner Business Intelligence Summit 2012 is the premier business analytics event providing must-have insights, frameworks and best practices for maximizing the business impact of information management and business analytics initiatives.
The Yurbi Team had a great time at CA World 2011 the week of November 13th and after recovering from Vegas and the Thanksgiving day turkey we wanted to say thanks to all those who dropped by to see us (and picked up that cool t-shirt) at CA World.
Yurbi was a big hit and we were very pleased to introduce Yurbi to some new people who were amazed they had never heard of us before. It was great to see existing customers as well as potential customers we have spoken to for more than 3 years who are finally so fed up with Business Objects they are ready to move forward with Yurbi!
We know it’s a tough decision to scrap the out-of-the box vendor reporting solution, but a common story we heard at CA World is the time and resources it takes just to get Business Objects XI (BOXI) up and running is not worth the effort, especially when it still requires a lot of engineering and crystal reports expertise just to create and run reports!
Of course Yurbi provides the cost affordable alternative that actually works.
What can Yurbi do for you?
Here is what you can do with the Yurbi Community download:
1. Use it completely free for 1 user and 1 database. So if you have a database that you want to quickly access and create an unlimited number of reports and dashboards, Yurbi Community is for you.
2. Activate a trial of our premium CA Apps. Yurbi Community takes less than 5 minutes to install. Activate a trial of CA Service Desk and immediately see how easy business intelligence should be. If you need CA Clarity, Asset Manager, or others contact us.
(NOTE: Be prepared to want to quit BOXI if you do this)
3. Many of you expressed interest in our Yurbi Connect integration with email and CA Service Desk. Install Community and activate a trial of Yurbi Connect. Experience a better email integration than maileater.
4. We talked to a lot of people who needed reporting from CA ITPAM, CA CMDB, Mainframe Datasources, home grown systems and more. Yurbi Community gives you a free way to do that and when you’re ready to upgrade to Yurbi Team features like security, additional user licenses, or report scheduling buying those are afforable and easy from our Yurbi Store.

We’re excited to be participating in CA World 2011 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Vegas this year. From Nov 13 – 16th we’ll be showing the CA community all the enhancements we’ve made in Yurbi since last year.
Our theme this year is “Get out the BOX!” CA provides Business Objects XI (BOXI) as their out of the box reporting solution but instead of creating end user happiness, BOXI is just another point of frustration! Hard to install and configure, hard to modify, and many limitations.
Yurbi provides a much better option for CA Users with our Premium Apps for CA including CA Service Manager, CA Clarity, CA IT Asset Manager, and more. In addition to making it really easy to create reports and dashboards from the CA solutions, Yurbi provides you the ability to report from non-CA databases like phone systems, financial apps, other other service management tools.
Check us out at Booth #581 at CA World 2011 and as an extra incentive we’ll be giving out this really cool limited edition T-Shirts, but come quick as they may go fast!
Learn more about Yurbi for CA here and feel free to Download Yurbi and give it a try before CA World. Be sure to drop by the booth at CA World and tell us what you think.
We had a great time showing off Yurbi® and talking about the new Yurbi Community Edition offering at Fusion 11 this week. We’d like to thank all of those who were able to stop by our booth and learn more about Yurbi. Not only did you learn about Yurbi, but we learned from you.
Here are our top 4 takeaways from Fusion 2011:
1. Dashboards are important
We got a lot of feedback from attendees that dashboards, which provide easy access to key performance indicators and metrics, were a hot topic. We learned that many of the dashboards you have used that were provided out-of-the-box by vendors were either: 1) difficult to customize, or 2) too expensive to roll out to all the users in your organization. We met a lot of attendees who were looking to add dashboard capabilities to their homegrown service management systems or systems that don’t have robust reporting features.
2. No one likes to do Crystal Reports®
This didn’t surprise us at all. The majority of attendees who were currently using crystal reports for their organization were looking for an easier solution. Many indicated that the cost of the development and IT resources needed to manage and create reports using Business Objects was too high. Other attendees indicated that it took too long to develop and deliver reports to end users using Crystal Reports and they needed a more agile business intelligence tool.
3. There needs to be more integration of service management data
Yurbi’s strength is that it ties together data from multiple sources such as a help desk, phone, financial, inventory, and other systems to provide a complete view of service management metrics and kpis. From talking with attendees it was clear this was a hot topic. Specifically, attendees expressed the need to connect service management data with phone system information to provide insight into calls answered versus calls logged, average time on phone per ticket category, first call resolution, and call-time per agent. Connecting financial information with the service management data was also important to understand the cost of providing service by application, customer, or location.
4. You Loved Yurbi Community !
We were very pleased with the feedback you provided us on Yurbi Community Edition. Community Edition provides 1 Yurbi AnyDB App and 1 App User License for free….forever. No gimmicks. Users are able to download Yurbi, connect it to one data source and produce and unlimited number of reports and dashboards. You can share up to 5 of these reports to an unlimited number of people in your organization. And for organizations that need additional users, security, or scheduling and secure distribution, we may it easy to upgrade to Yurbi Team edition via our online Store. There is no better way to access and share data from any of the major Help Desk applications like Heat, Footprints, BMC Remedy, CA Service Desk, HP Service Manager, ServiceNow or even home grown applications.

FUSION 11 a great show

From the launch of Yurbi v9.1 in Jan 2010 to the most recent v9.12 released this month, 2010 almost seems like a blur to us we’ve been so busy, but the excitement and satisfaction of making our customers’ lives easier and more productive make it all worthwhile.
Here’s looking toward a great 2011 and a BIG THANKS to all our friends.
-The Yurbi Team
Yurbi made a great showing at GEO-INT 2010 in New Orleans, Nov 1 – 4. Senior Architect Brian Holesapple was there with our Federal Team, OakTree Solutions, and he did a great job explaining the benefits of Yurbi and how Federal, State, Local, Education, and Commercial entities can take advantage of the time and cost savings associated with Yurbi. Better Business Intelligence is something that everyone can appreciate.
We’re starting to pack up and head to vegas for next week’s World Wide Remedy User Group meeting at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Vegas Oct 22nd-28th. It’s going to be exciting to meet with BMC Remedy Users in Vegas, not just because it’s where we’re headquartered as a company, but because it gives us the opportunity to point out that Yurbi is the best bet in Vegas.
Not only can Remedy users see how Yurbi provides tremendous cost and time savings to their business intelligence efforts but thier team of managers, executives, customers, and partners can learn ways to leverage their BMC Remedy data with other business platforms such as financials, phone systems, and custom in-house applications. Yurbi can help show management valuable metrics on the true cost and benefit of Service Management.
We’re positive that the Remedy Users taking the time to come to the conference are top notch when it comes to Service Management, so using Yurbi to expose that excellence to their management will truly make them shine!
For those attending the show, please stop by our booth for more information, we’ll be there all week. And for those BMC Users unable to make the show, please take a look at Yurbi’s Showcase on the BMC Communities website, and reach out to us for a live demo and a free trial.
With pre-built business intelligence apps for major service management vendors like HP, BMC, and CA, the HDI Service Management 2010 Conference in Miami is the best place for Yurbi to be this week and we’re excited about it.
HDI is the largest association for IT service & technical support professionals, with membership around the globe. And we’ve found that the members of HDI are some of the most knowledgeable in the industry when it comes to the importance of metrics, key performance indicators (KPI), and understanding that a sure fire way to improve service quality is to get the right info into the hands of the right people as fast is possible. So naturally they grasp the concept behind Yurbi immediately and when they see the ease of Yurbi as compared to the ways they gather metrics today, they immediately see the value of Yurbi as well.
For those attending the expo, please drop by and visit us at pedestal 25. If you’re unable to make it to the show, please request a live demo of Yurbi so we can show you some of the metrics that you can have in your environment in less than a 30 minute trial install.
